Replace your Microsoft products
There is a new, NON-Microsoft Operating System on the market, called UBUNTU. It offers you not only what Microsoft Operating Systems have offered in the past, but also what they have promised but not delivered. One can describe UBUNTU with one word: EASY! Upgrades and updates are absolutely effortless. Its’ large selection of built-in programs are compatible with many Microsoft products; it even comes with Open Office pre-installed and no, it doesn’t expire as Microsoft’s pre-installed Trial-Versions do! UBUNTU offers true multi-function capability with minimal system requirements.
There are several different editions available, such as:
* Standard
* Ultimate
* Educational
* Gamers
* Server
As you well know, Microsoft will offer some product upgrades in form of service packs, etc… - mostly to alleviate problems with their software. But any major changes to their Operating System, well, they just come out with a new version for you to buy.
Not so with UBUNTU. Programmers are continuously working on improving UBUNTU and are making all their program updates available fast and FREE!
Another plus to UBUNTU is that your risks of getting infected with a virus are minimal. Why? – because most viruses created today are geared towards Microsoft products.
These are exciting times for all those who want to steer away from Microsoft products. UBUNTU is a No Cost/Low Cost alternative with the potential to change the computer world as we know it. The cost for the Operating System itself is - $0.00
The only way you pay for it is if you want a hard copy on DVD, which usually runs you under $20.00!
What’s going on with Microsoft
Many of you are concerned about the EOL (End of Life) of Microsoft Windows XP. We want to clarify that the EOL which took effect the end of June 2008 only applied to Name Brand Manufacturers like HP, IBM, Dell, etc… , and Full Retail Products. The EOL for system builders like ourselves is January of 2009.
What this means to you
Name Brand PCs currently come with Vista Operating System. That’s it.
A few months ago, George attended a Microsoft Vendor Meeting. Most of Phoenix’s vendors had the same complaint: Vista does not work properly! Microsoft’s representatives stated at that time, that the plan was to abandon Vista the same way they did Windows ME. They are scheduled to release a new Operating System in 2009. The problem with that remains the same as always: every time Microsoft comes out with a new Operating System, it takes a while for them to work out the bugs… (usually at your expense). According to Microsoft, extended XP Support will be available until April of 2014 (updates and security patches)
If you’re in the market for a new PC, or will be within the next few months, and you want to run Windows XP, you can still have us custom-build a system for you, specified to your needs.
Or, you can give UBUNTU a try. We’re so excited about UBUNTU, that we’re even offering a reduced price for a full install with UBUNTU:
Bring in this letter, and we will setup your computer with UBUNTU for only $75.00! That’s a $35.00 savings over our regular rate!
And if you wanted to know (as we were) what UBUNTU means – it’s African and means HUMANITY :~)
Feel free to stop in or e-mail us with any questions. We’d love to hear from you!
Have a blessed day |
